Pediatric Radiology Education
Currently, there is a dire shortage of pediatric radiologists across our country, and the Pediatric Radiology section is dedicated to ensuring future radiologists both in and outside of the subspecialty are equipped to serve our youngest patients. In addition to running a Pediatric Radiology Fellowship, our experienced faculty are intensely active in the education of medical students and radiology residents from a broad range of referring services.
Pediatric Radiology Fellowship
The inaugural class of the Pediatric Radiology Fellowship program will begin in July 2026. Led by Program Director Teresa Chapman, MD, the program will enable our radiology fellows to develop subspecialized skills in multi-modality imaging care for our community’s pediatric patients with the highest degree of compassion and professionalism.
Clinical training within our section utilizes radiography, fluoroscopy, computed tomography, ultrasound, and magnetic resonance imaging in the diagnosis of a wide spectrum of acute and chronic illnesses, seen in both the outpatient and inpatient settings. Our referring physicians include prenatal care specialists, general and subspecialty pediatricians, and general and subspecialty pediatric surgeons.
Residents & Medical Students
Resident education is an important focus, and the chief of pediatric radiology is an active member of the resident education committee. Pediatric Radiology teaching includes a didactic lecture series, case conferences, daily “viewbox” teaching on the clinical services, reading room “mini-lectures” and a comprehensive oral boards review case conference series.
