J. Erik Winterholler, MD

Biography

J. Erik Winterholler, MD is from Utah. He obtained his undergraduate degree in genetics and biotechnology at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah and his medical degree from Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He completed his internship in surgery, diagnostic radiology residency, and fellowship in abdominal imaging at UW Hospitals and Clinics. 

During post-graduate training, Dr. Winterholler was longitudinally involved in advocacy and policy with the American College of Radiology and the Wisconsin Radiological Society. He is an alumnus of the Abdominal Imaging and Intervention Research Lab where he participated in histotripsy research. 

Dr. Winterholler joined the Abdominal Imaging and Intervention Section as an assistant professor (CHS) in 2026. His professional interests include informatics, health policy, and education.
