Biography
Alan B. McMillan, PhD, is a professor of clinical health sciences and chief of the Section of Imaging Sciences within the Department of Radiology at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. He has affiliate appointments in the Department of Medical Physics, Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Biomedical Engineering. He is currently the director of the Molecular Imaging Technology Research Program (MITRP), where the team’s focus is to integrate advanced modeling, data science, and physics-based approaches to improve medical imaging, particular for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and positron emission tomography). The group has a large focus on the development, application, and evaluation of artificial intelligence methods in medical imaging.
