Austin Maas, MD

Biography

Austin Maas, MD went to the University of Michigan for his medical degree and completed his surgical internship at the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics. After undergraduate, he spent two years at UW-Madison doing research in radiation oncology before returning to the University of Michigan for medical school. He chose to pursue interventional radiology because he loved diagnostic imaging during his preclinical years but also loved the procedural portion of surgery rotations. He appreciates that IR has a great mix of diagnostic and procedural aspects, and that it is a rapidly evolving field.
