    Biography

    Alan B. McMillan, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Clinical Health Sciences within the Department of Radiology and Medical Physics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He obtained his Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, and PhD all in Biomedical Engineering at UW-Madison. He is currently the Lab Director of the Molecular Imaging/Magnetic Resonance Technology Lab (MIMRTL), where the team’s focus is to integrate advanced modeling, data science, and physics-based approaches to improve MRI and PET imaging techniques. Dr. McMillan was recently awarded an R01 grant from the National Institutes of Health for his study of “Improved Techniques for Substitute CT Generation from MRI Datasets” using deep learning to improve simultaneous PET/MR and MR-based radiation treatment planning.
