A multi-detector CT (MDCT) acquisition at total lung capacity (TLC) is needed at the start and end of the 24 week study to assess whether the potential reduction in inflammatory changes in the airways brought about by imatinib can be detected through the use of CT imaging. The basic CT imaging protocol can be best described as obtaining MDCT images of the entire lung at full inspiration (TLC) before and after the 24 week treatment period. We are collaborating with Washington University-St. Louis, MO and Brigham & Women’s Hospital, Boston MA.
