The term of this project was: January 2014 to February 2015

The number of subjects scanned during this project was: 8

The overall goal of this project is to evaluate the imaging characteristics and behavior of a novel PET neuroimaging exam and for studying the serotonin 5-HT1A receptor system. These first-in-human studies will evaluate the brain distribution of [F-18]Mefway in normal volunteers in a test-retest paradigm to establish reproducibility and imaging methodology for quantitative analysis. Initial human radiation dosimetry studies will also be carried out using a PET/CT scanner on human subjects. This information is necessary to extend the use of [F-18]Mefway for studying 5-HT1A related function and pathology into clinical research applications.
