Breast Imaging Section Leadership Announcement

Posted on Jan 11, 2018

The start of the new year brings several exciting changes to the Breast Imaging Section of the UW Department of Radiology. Earlier this year, Dr. Elizabeth Burnside was appointed as the Senior Associate Dean for Clinical and Translational Research as well as Executive Director of UW-ICTR. With these new responsibilities, Dr. Burnside has stepped down as the Breast Imaging Section Chief but will continue as a member of the Department of Radiology’s Breast Imaging section.

Dr. Roberta Strigel, former Associate Chief of Breast Imaging at University Hospital, will become the new Breast Imaging Section Chief. Dr. Mai Elezaby will assume Dr. Strigel’s former role as Associate Chief at University Hospital and Dr. Ryan Woods will continue to serve as the Associate Chief for Breast Imaging at the Community Radiology Campus at 1 South Park.

“Please join me in welcoming Drs. Strigel and Elezaby in their new roles, and thanking Dr. Burnside for her service! Many thanks to all who make Breast Imaging here at UW Radiology truly remarkable!”
- Dr. Tom Grist, Chair of the Department of Radiology
