Drs. Prabhakaran and Nair Study Awarded $3 Million NIH Grant

UWSMPH Department of Radiology Associate Professor Vivek Prabhakaran, MD, PhD, and Senior Scientist Veena Nair, PhD, and Department of Neurology Professor Bruce Hermann, PhD,  are co-Is on a multidisciplinary 5-year project that recently received $3 million NIH-NINDS R01 funding. The project, led by UW Department of Neurology’s Assistant Professor Aaron Struck, MD, will map the connectome in Juvenile Myoclonic Epilepsy (JME). The long-term goal of this study is to better characterize the epileptogenic network involved in causing JME. The R01 project will be using the WIMR PREMIER 3T MRI scanner, a unique resource, that allows for connectome MRI data collection.
