DEGREE AND AREA OF SPECIALIZATION:
Bachelors Degree required.

MINIMUM NUMBER OF YEARS AND TYPE OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE:
Knowledge of rules and regulations for animal research and human subjects’ research is required. Previous experience in research laboratory management and advanced training and experience in animal handling strongly preferred. Knowledge in tumor ablation, angiography, and interventional procedures is preferred. Knowledge and application of anesthesia in animals and knowledge of surgical monitoring devices such as EKG machine, blood pressure monitors, blood gas monitors, etc. is preferred.

A criminal and/or caregiver background check will be conducted.

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for operational and technical support as well as facilitating and overseeing all research studies for the WIMR Surgical Services, pre-clinical image guided interventions, and tumor ablation lab located within WIMR imaging. The duties of this position include ensuring that ethical research and business practices are conducted appropriately, regulatory compliance is adhered to, scheduling, educating, scanning, billing, data management, animal care, lab management and all other aspects of research.

This is a challenging position requiring program management and development within a climate of constant change. The position requires a high level of skills in problem solving, budget development and monitoring, as well as the ability to interact effectively with others at various levels within the institution and in private industry. The position requires a thorough knowledge of IRB and HIPAA policies and all other regulations regarding human and animal research.

Candidate must be able to work independently with a minimum level of supervision and make complex decisions regarding animal care and laboratory operations.
