Clinical informatics encompasses the application of information technologies within healthcare to improve the quality, efficiency, and understanding of patient care. Imaging informatics focuses specifically on clinical informatics within the domain of medical imaging.

This elective leadership program provides technical and management training to physicians, scientists, and staff to build healthcare leaders that can leverage information technology to transform healthcare. Trainees interact with a wide variety of professionals, from clinical and business leaders to software developers in order to learn about the transformation of healthcare through the application of information technology.

Physician trainees are highly encouraged to take the Certified Imaging Informatics Professional (CIIP) exam administered by the American Board of Imaging Informatics.
