Dr. Emily Lewis is a board-certified diagnostic radiologist with additional fellowship training in cross-sectional body imaging. Dr. Lewis was division chief of the ultrasound department for several years in her previous practice in Roanoke, Virginia. Past duty has also included chief of mammography. Today, along with practicing general radiology, Dr. Lewis maintains special interests in MRI, Ultrasound, and mammography and radiology operations and improvement. Dr. Lewis is currently co-chief of the radiology education committee in the community division. This committee meets regularly to educate and develop protocols to assist the radiology group in delivering current evidence-based radiology in the context of the preferences and needs of the local referring physicians and their patients. Dr. Lewis serves on the radiology practice committee which works interdepartmentally to improve patient services. Dr. Lewis also implemented the American College of Radiology peer review process for the Community Division to maintain standards of care.
