The focus of my research has been on the application of advanced ultrasound imaging techniques to problems of tissue characterization and the pathophysiology of blood flow. My principle contributions to the medical literature have been in the field of obstetrical ultrasound and vascular Doppler ultrasound. In the field of obstetrical ultrasound, my research has concentrated primarily on the identification and characterization of fetal malformations. In the field of Doppler ultrasound, my focus has been on analyses of the spectral waveforms in both normal and abnormal hemodynamic states. Currently, I am collaborating with colleagues in Medical Physics on clinical applications for tissue characterization techniques such as backscatter analysis and elastography.
