MSK Radiology Fellowship
Program Information
The
Division of Musculoskeletal Radiology at the University of Wisconsin
provides image interpretation and imaging-guided intervention of
the extremities and spine. The Division is composed of internationally
known experts with expertise in all modalities used to image and
to treat and diagnose pain in the musculoskeletal system. The Division
also provides expert consultation for spine, joint and extremity
imaging including complex sports medicine imaging.
Our four fellows are fully integrated into the Division and work closely with the faculty in interpreting radiographs, CT, MR and ultrasound scans of the extremities and spine, as well as performing biopsies, vertebroplasties, image-guided ablations, and diagnostic and therapeutic joint and spine injections. Last year, we performed 500 extremity ultrasound examinations, 1950 injection and interventional procedures, 1500 CT and 7700 MR examinations of the extremities and the spine including 500 MR arthrograms.
Overview
The
musculoskeletal training program is supported by the Department of
Radiology and the University of Wisconsin Medical School. When they
begin the fellowship, fellows must be graduates of an ACGME accredited
program in Diagnostic Radiology, and must have a Wisconsin medical
license. Fellows are appointed to the faculty as clinical instructors.
Fellows receive faculty benefits including 22 days vacation and a
book and travel fund. Academic time is given to support research.
