Breast Imaging Fellowship
Overview
The Section of Breast Imaging offers a one year Breast Imaging fellowship program supported by the Department of Radiology and University of Wisconsin Medical School. The fellowship offers extensive clinical experience in screening and diagnostic mammography, breast ultrasound, breast MR, breast pathology and interventional procedures. The fellowship is multidisciplinary with a focus on screening, diagnostic evaluations, consultations, image-guided biopsies. Fellows are appointed to the faculty as clinical instructors, and receive faculty benefits including vacation, sick leave, and travel funds. Academic time is given to support research.
No specialty board certification is available through the ABR for breast imaging. However, the ABR has granted a one year credit toward Board Eligibility in Diagnostic Radiology for foreign medical graduates who have completed the one year fellowship. The program meets the requirements and recommendations of the Society for Breast Imaging (SBI) for breast fellowships.
