angio The Division of Angio/Interventional Radiology within the Department of Radiology is committed to providing the finest diagnostic and therapeutic radiology services for University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics patients. As part of this commitment, the department is actively involved in research into new diagnostic and treatment modalities, including clinical research projects in most areas of imaging.

Education

The Angio/Interventional Radiology Division is committed to the highest quality training of medical students, residents and musculoskeletal radiology fellows, as well as radiologists enrolled in our visiting fellowship program. Our division has a large teaching file available for individuals enrolled in any of our teaching programs. Our faculty give expert instruction at the dictation workstations, while performing procedures, and at formal lectures.

Research

The Angio/Interventional Radiology Division is actively involved in a variety of research interests. Current projects include:

  • Comparison of MR, DSA, and catheter directed CTA to evaluate morphology of vascular stenosis
  • Evaluation of CTA perfusion studies in measuring post-PTA vascularization
  • Evaluation of US parameters in assessing TIPS patency and function
  • Selective Internal Radiation Therapy – review of side effects, complications and early treatment response
